Whale watching safari
Trips on comfy, high-speed boats run daily between April and October and last from 4-6 hours depending on conditions. Orca or Killer whales are found in the water off Vancouver at this time of year and the chances of sightings are 85%. Additionally, other marine wildlife such as porpoises, seals and sea lions are visible as well as bald eagles.
It is also possible to travel with local inhabitants on the regular flights to the nearby Gulf Islands.
Day trip to Vancouver Island
Take the ferry through the beautiful Gulf Islands to Victoria, the capital city of British Columbia.
A guided tour takes in the main attractions of this picturesque city including the Inner Harbour, Parliament building and Butchart Gardens. This tour can also be combined with a return by seaplane from Victoria to Vancouver.
Black Bear Watch
In the Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains there are about 50 Black bears and this excursion in 4×4 vehicles covers meadows, streams and forests to explore sites frequented by them. It also includes short walks and the possibility of seeing other wildlife such as western hoary marmots, Coastal Mountain black-tailed deer and ruffed grouse.
Zip Trek Tour
Riding up to 200ft above the forest floor, for distances close to 2000ft, you will reach speeds approaching 50mph so this tour is not for the faint hearted.
